EASY-TO-USE
Ron had always led a very healthy lifestyle, never really requiring doctor visits, outside of routine preventative care. He was an avid runner and outdoorsman, so he was devastated when he was diagnosed with a heart condition in April of 2021 in the midst of the pandemic. Ron worried what this would mean for his overall health and well-being. Could he still manage his health as he had always done before? Would this now mean constant visits to the doctor? Since his wife’s passing in 2010, he has always had support from his children and grandchildren, but he really didn’t want to have to rely on them to drive him to visits. After all, they had their own lives: work, school, sports, piano lessons….and the pandemic…what risk would this put them and their families at?
When Ron’s doctor told him that he would be setting him up with The CareMeda remote monitoring platform so that they could track his vital signs and symptoms from the comfort of his home, he was elated. Not only was Ron given an easy-to- use tablet and monitoring devices, but the CareMeda platform also enabled his family to be involved in his care. This was key for Ron and his family. His son Jim, who lives three hours away, could easily check in to see how he was doing each day from his mobile device. His daughter Sue, an army physician deployed to Germany, could participate in virtual visits with Ron and his cardiologist.
The CareMeda platform enabled Ron to safely receive the monitoring and care he needed from his home. It drastically reduced the number of doctor visits and made him still feel in control of his health and well-being, despite his recent diagnosis, despite the pandemic. Ron knew each morning what his blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation were; and his doctor and family did as well. His doctor could manage his vitals and symptom trends and advise Ron through telehealth consultations.
Not only did CareMeda empower Ron to manage his health as he had always done, but it gave his family an invaluable peace of mind.
